Welcome speech by Mr. He Dexin, President of the World Wind Energy Association

The World Wind Energy Conference is held annually in different countries and is one of the most influential wind energy events in the global wind energy industry. The 13th World Wind Energy Conference was held in China for the first time in 2004 and returned to China after a decade. This conference is jointly hosted by the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Association (CWEA), the Wind Energy Equipment Branch of the China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association (CWEEA), and the National Renewable Energy Center (CNREC). Based on the characteristics of the current development of China's wind power industry, the theme established at this conference is "Distributed Wind Power - Reasonable Matching of Wind Power Generation and Demand". All attending representatives will jointly explore more application paths of wind power and flexible matching methods to adapt to market demand, so that wind power can make greater contributions to humanity on a global scale. This conference has received strong support from the German Ministry of Environment, Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd., ExxonMobil, the International Copper Association (China), Zhengzhou Aote Technology Co., Ltd., and New China Trade Derui Exhibition Co., Ltd.

Mr. Yao Xingjia delivered a speech on behalf of the Chinese organizers of the conference

This conference lasted for three days and arranged more than 20 themed sub sessions, with more than 130 speakers. The conference topics covered "National Policy and Market", "Energy System Optimization Strategy", "Extreme Climate and Special Conditions", "Multi energy Complementary and Microgrid", "Key Wind Power Components", "Wind Farm Planning and Operation", "Small Wind Power Applications", "Quality Control and Testing Certification", etc. In addition, the conference received nearly 100 papers of various types. In addition to compiling a collection of papers, some papers were also arranged for display in wall posters.

Currently, China is the world's largest wind power installation country. In 2013, China's cumulative installed wind power capacity reached 91 million kilowatts, of which 77.16 million kilowatts were connected to the grid. In 2013, wind power generation reached 134.9 billion kilowatt hours, making it the third largest power source in China. China has abundant wind energy resources, and the development of green and pollution-free wind energy resources not only has broad prospects, but also plays an important role in adjusting energy structure, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, controlling haze, and supporting green and sustainable economic development. The Chinese wind power industry is constantly maturing, and the country's emphasis and policy support on wind power have created a favorable environment for the wind energy market to continue to maintain high-speed growth. Chinese wind power equipment manufacturing enterprises are also accelerating their global market layout and gradually becoming wind power equipment suppliers with international competitiveness. The return of the World Wind Energy Conference to China is undoubtedly a good opportunity for deepening understanding and win-win cooperation among various sectors of the domestic and foreign wind power industry.
